The small traditional Japanese garden of Gyorakuen (魚楽園) located in Kawasaki Town was established by Sesshu, an artist who traveled to China in his late forties. Be sure to keep an eye out for the unique carvings of fish that can be spotted on the buildings within the garden.

Kaho Theater (嘉穂劇場) is a traditional performing arts venue located in Fukuoka Prefecture. It was initially designed to be a recreational space for workers employed in nearby coal mines, but now hosts kabuki performances open to all throughout the year. If you are ever in Iizuka City, you would be wise to catch a performance in this charming traditional setting.

Tonkotsu Ramen

One of the highlights of visiting Fukuoka Prefecture is the chance to taste its famed local dish: Tonkotsu Ramen (とんこつラーメン). This ramen is characterized by a pork broth that perfectly complements the ramen noodles and vegetable toppings, and there are plenty of establishments serving this dish dotted throughout the prefecture. It's famed around the world.
