I visited Miyajima in late November, when the weather was almost perfect. It was still relatively warm, and the momiji maple were at their very best. Most people probably know Miyajima's iconic and famous Sacred Torii gate. It is indeed beautiful and fascinating (there is a real 'Old-time Japan' feel to the island), but there is a lot more to the island than just the Torii . In fact, there is a lot to do and see, and so you can easily spend a few days here. And don't forget that the island is very close to Hiroshima, making them together a perfect half-week trip. Come with me now, and explore the beauty of Miyajima...with fresh eyes.
