Mar 27th - May 30th 2021

There's no doubting that Japan's spectacular seasonal beauty has inspired numerous artists throughout history, and the most influential muse of all may well be cherry blossoms. A special exhibition taking place at the Wood One Museum of Art looks into a variety of masterpieces that depict these much-loved blooms, from the likes of Taikan Yokoyama, Kawai Gyokudo, and Kawanabe Kyosai to name just a few.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1200 yen, and no advance reservations are required. Do note that the museum is closed each Monday if you're planning on making a special trip.

Getting there

The Wood One Museum of Art is located around 90 minutes by bus from the JR Miyauchikushido Station, which is served by the Sanyo Main Line. Take the Saeki Line bound for "Tsuta", and get off at the Saiki Bunka Center stop (about 40 minutes). From there, take the Yoshiwa Sakura Bus until you reach the stop for Kuvele Yoshikazu (クヴェーレ吉和, about 50 minutes). The museum is around a minute on foot from there.

Alternatively, for those who opt to drive to the venue, it is around 2 kilometers from the Yoshiwa Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway.
