In Japan, the water lily grows in garden ponds during the warm season. I would come across them here and there, but what I saw in Kobe Animal Kingdom was something really outstanding! A huge indoor pond was full of lilies of all colors and sorts. It’s impossible to express their beauty in words and even in photos! Not only was I excited about the wonderful lily pond, but also by the many visitors at Kobe Animal Kingdom as well. I bet lilies grow here all year round.

Lily about 20cm in diameter

Indoor lily pond about 100 meters long!

There are hundreds of different sorts and colors

A fragment of the pond

So bright in pink color!

Water lily is an exotic flower for me

Some lillies have big leaves

Tender pink lillies

So beautiful shape of the petals

I liked this spotted one

The most "traditional" lily

Some more...

That girl was charmed, too

Boys enjoyed watching small fish in the pond
