Okubo Temple is a fantastic temple to bring your camera to, especially as the seasons change.

First you get the cherry and apricot blossoms in the early spring, followed by the soft and radiant blooms of wisteria in the middle of spring.

In summer the temple is wrapped in green shade, and in fall the scenery is set ablaze in a cornucopia of reds, oranges, and yellows. If you wanted to view the autumn colors in Eastern Shikoku, you couldn't pick a better place!

These sights are not just for pilgrims, make sure to stop by this fall! (Photo: Bret de Colebi)
People are often worried about ringing the Kane (large, brass, Buddhist bells).  But you shouldn't be!  Unless there is a sign, its a good thing to ring it!  The sound of the bell is meant to clean the air and to serve as a "bookmark" in the story of your life.   When you hear it, stop and listen, thinking about where you are in this moment, what lies behind, and what your future may hold.
