Kamakura-ko Lake is a small hidden treasure. In the early Meiji era (around 1869), farmers living near here built a reservoir. A gently rolling path makes a circuit of this man-made lake, and it’s a pleasant walk for bird watching. Several types of Japanese birds can be observed: Great tit,Long-tailed tit, White-eye, Black-faced bunting, Bush warbler, and so on. Take a bus for Kamakura-ko Junkan (鎌倉湖循環) from the East Exit of JR Ofuna Station, and get off at Imaizumi-fudo (今泉不動). The lake is just a few minutes walk from the bus stop.
