A special exhibition taking place at Kyoto's Museum of Modern Art asks the question "can architecture be art?", and specifically focuses on the Bunriha, Japan's first architectural movement. 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the movement's creation, and the event will examine artworks along with architectural drawings, models, photographs, and videos.
Part of the exhibition's goal is to highlight the role that the Bunriha played in modern Japanese architecture, and to help visitors discover the art in the architecture they pursued.
Adult admission to the event is priced at 1500 yen.
