The Ceramic Sculpture of Shindo Tsuji 2020

A special event at Museum EKI Kyoto

Venue: Museum EKI, Kyoto Station When: Oct 31st - Nov 23rd 2020

Shindo Tsuji (1910-1981) was a Japanese artist born in Tottori Prefecture who was particularly renowned for his sculpture works. While Tsuji had utilized mediums like cement and iron for sculptures during his career, this event specifically focuses on his ceramic sculpture works. Tsuji was inspired to delve into the ceramic realm after moving to Kyoto and discovering a range of kilns around the Higashiyama area.

Around 45 pieces from Tsuji's Kyoto-era ceramic collection will be displayed at the event. Adult admission is priced at 900 yen.

Getting there

Museum EKI Kyoto is located within the Kyoto Station building, on the 7th floor adjacent to the Isetan department store. The station is served by a wide variety of lines, including the Tokaido Shinkansen, the Tokaido Main Line, the Nara Line, and the Sanin Main Line.

For those who plan to drive, parking is available at the station, which is charged at 600 yen for the first hour, and 300 yen for every 30 minutes thereafter.
