Easily accessed from Nagamachiminami Station by bus or foot, Mikamine Park is one of the hanami hot-spots in Sendai. Unlike other hanami areas, this is a family park with a large play area where kids and adults alike can run around and have fun. Located on a hill, this spot gives a commanding view of the surrounding area. There is a variety of cherry blossom trees here and they differ not only in color, but also in height. There are no food stalls around, but it's a wonderful place for a picnic. Just imagine being sprawled out under one of those trees laden with flowers, sipping on a glass of wine and enjoying a good book. What better way to spend a weekend?

Beautiful! I hope Tokyo will be full of blooming sakura this weekend and I can go to a hanami too. Could see a lot of trees today in my area.
@Matthew, haha I won't recommend climbing them. But trust me, you'll be too blown away by the beauty to even have that thought :D
