On my trips into Karuizawa from the Hoshino resort and Picchio tourist centre, I often noticed people pouring in and out of this small, traditional soba restaurant, so one day, I decided to see what the fuss was about. Kagimotoya is a friendly restaurant right beside Nakakaruizawa station, which serves the best soba I've ever had, and the tempura was excellent too. The service was fast, and the waitresses were happy to help me when I wasn't sure what to do with all the side dishes! If you're in Karuizawa, you must try this authentic, welcoming little restaurant.
