Two years ago I visited Kamigoto Island to see my husband's hometown for the first time in my life. It was just beautiful. The natural beauty remains untouched here, although it takes only 1.5 hours by speed boat from Nagasaki. What surprised me most was there were almost no tourists there (I met a dog, though), despite the fact that it was late August, the high-season for travel. If you come here, you can monopolize the picturesque, beautiful beach all to yourself. Don't tell anybody...Visit there alone!

What is this nameless island!?
Beautiful beach with nobody to be seen near Akao. Even local people don't know the name of it. I visited here in late Aug., the high-season for travel, but no tourists were there!

Inlet viewed from uphill. How idyllic!

The seashore viewed from Kashiragashima Bridge. How beautiful!
Deserted beach. If you bring your own tent and camp here this beach will be all yours!

Kabuto (Helmet) Rock in Arikawa
Goto Islands' specialty, 'Hako Fugu (Box-shaped Blowfish)'. It's baked in an oven, with Miso stuffed inside its belly. Great snack that goes well with Japanese sake!

What a lovely hidden gem! Looks so peaceful and untouched!
Yes Kim, it is a lovely place. Do visit it when you have a chance!
Thank you Muhammad! Yes, the blowfish is REAL! It's baked upside-down, so it's a little difficult to imagine how it really looks like...but yummy anyway!
