A special exhibition taking place at Nara's Yamato Bunkakan looks into the popularity of traditional blue and white porcelain pieces, which are loved around the world and have a long history in both China and Japan. The event will showcase a range of vividly colored pieces, and explore how porcelain manufacturing techniques developed over time. Some of the items with Japanese origins on display will include Arita porcelain from Saga Prefecture (which has been designated as an Important Cultural Property), and Kaseyama porcelain pieces from Kyoto.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 630 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Yamato Bunkakan is located approximately seven minutes on foot from Gakuemmae Station, which is served by the Kintetsu Nara line. The station is under 10 minutes from Nara Station, and around 25 minutes from Osaka Namba Station.

For those who plan to drive to the venue, on-site parking is available for 40 vehicles.
