LET'S EXPO: Making the Osaka Expo Accessible to All

Bringing the Expo experience to everyone, anywhere

Inclusive events are essential in ensuring that everyone, regardless of physical ability, can participate in significant cultural and social experiences. As society becomes more aware of the needs of people with disabilities and the elderly, creating opportunities for all individuals to engage and feel included becomes a crucial part of any major event.

The 2025 World Expo in Osaka-Kansai is no exception, and through innovative initiatives like LET'S EXPO, organizers are ensuring that the Expo is a celebration that everyone can enjoy.

LET'S EXPO is a groundbreaking universal tourism project designed to make the 2025 World Expo in Osaka-Kansai enjoyable for everyone, including those who may face challenges attending in person. Led by the Kansai Innovation Center (MUIC Kansai), the initiative focuses on providing accessible support for elderly people and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they can experience the Expo in ways that suit their needs.

One of the key features of LET'S EXPO is its Virtual Experience Support service, which enables participants to virtually attend the Expo through 3D recreations of the Yumeshima site. This service utilizes advanced technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to provide an immersive experience. Additionally, online tours will allow people in care facilities, disability centers, and other locations to join livestreamed tours of the Expo’s pavilions. These tours feature interactive elements, including real-time communication with tour guides, giving participants the sensation of being physically present at the event.

Through this collaboration with the Osaka-Kansai Expo, LET'S EXPO aims to make the World Expo accessible to an additional 350,000 individuals, addressing the needs of those who may find it difficult to attend due to physical limitations. By offering both virtual and in-person participation options, LET'S EXPO hopes to bridge the gap, ensuring that the event can be enjoyed by a wider audience.
