Marine Town (located in Ito on the Izu peninsula) is a cute tourist destination. It's perfect for finding last-minute gifts, and has quite a few good little eateries and sweets shops. My favorite little spot was a brewery that features seasonal beers and offers tastings! Their sakura beer is definitely worth a try if you're in town. It also features a spa and offers boat tours of the bay. Enjoy a free foot bath while overlooking the bay while taking in the great scenery.

Ito's Marine Town
Beer, gifts, boats, and everything in between in Izu!

Marine Town is good for both couples and families

Public foot baths line the edge of the sea-facing side (don't forget to bring a small towel!)

Inside is a bustling collection of stores, restaurants, and gift shops

Marine Town faces a port, with a walkway that extends into the bay

There are a lot of private boats, but there are also some tours available for reasonable prices

The end of the walkway has a statue (it can be a very romantic spot, but closes pretty early)
