Immediately next to Takadanobaba station is Big Box, an aptly-named building with a couple of shopping floors that attract a lively, youthful crowd. It's mostly womens' clothing stores, ranging from Bohemian and lingerie to alternative and solidly mainstream fashion, but there's also a hundred-yen shop, a couple of cafes and more. Neither touristy nor high-end, it's a fun place to go and shop like young Japanese do, then to admire your purchases over a coffee or cake.
