Jimbocho Book Festival

An event for bibliophiles in Tokyo

Venue: Kanda-Suzuran-dori When: Late Oct 2023

Certain areas of Tokyo are famous for different things, and the Jimbocho part of the city is renowned for being a bibliophile's paradise. The Jimbocho Book Festival celebrates this aspect of the city's culture, and the event has been running for 30 years now.

The two-day affair will be held along Kanda Suzuran Street and the Jimbocho Mitsui Building open space, and is set to include a variety of books available for purchase from numerous publishers. If you're after some new reading material or have an interest in perusing what's on offer, be sure to head out and see what's available.

Getting there

Kanda Suzuran Street (1-chome Kanda Jimbocho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), and the Jimbocho Mitsui Building open space (1-105 Kanda Jimbocho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) are both located around two minutes on foot from Jimbocho Station, which is served by the Toei Mita Line, the Toei Shinjuku Line, and the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line.

Previously, I did not pay attention to such events at all. It's just that there were no suitable books, there were only junk.
