Coming to Tokyo's Ueno Royal Museum from October 10th until January 11th 2021 is the special exhibition titled "King and Queen". The event will showcase around 90 portrait paintings and portrait photography of the British Royal Family, starting with the Tudors right through to the present-day House of Windsor.

From Henry VIII to William and Kate, the pieces on display will head to Japan from the London National Portrait Gallery, regarded as one of the world’s leading portrait galleries.

Adult admission to the event is priced at ¥ 1,800 on weekdays, and ¥ 2,000 on weekends. In efforts to mitigate the risk of coronavirus transmission, mask wearing is required within the museum premises.

Getting there

The Ueno Royal Museum is located approximately three minutes on foot from the JR Ueno Station Park exit.

Alternatively, if you're using the Tokyo Metro or the Keisei Electric Railway to get to Ueno, the museum is around five minutes away on foot.
