From May 15th until August 20th, the Intercontinental Hotel Tokyo Bay will be hosting a Marie Antoinette-themed afternoon tea event. The elegant affair will include a wide range of sweets such as Gugelhupf (a traditional European cake that Marie Antoinette was said to be fond of), pavlova, rosé wine jelly, and Peach Melba to name just a handful. There will also be a variety of teas from Lupicia - you can find several of their stores across Japan.
The afternoon tea event is priced differently depending on when you plan to attend. Weekdays are priced at ¥5,100, and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are priced at ¥5,900. Do note that the times differ, too - on weekdays the event runs from 11.30 am until 1.30 pm, and on weekends there are three sittings: 11.30 am until 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm, and 6 pm until 8pm. Bookings can be made via the hotel's website.
