Every year in September there is a big Okinawan dance festival in Machida. The event is spread over a weekend with many different dance groups performing as they parade through the streets. The dancers wear traditional costumes as the dance, sing and play instruments. Drums give the traditional music excitement and energy. I only wish I knew what the words meant!
