A special event taking place at the Machiko Hasegawa Museum in Setagaya is titled "What Machiko Hasegawa Loved". Hasegawa was one of Japan's first female manga artists, and she used the proceeds from her manga works like "Sazae-san" and "Ijiwaru Baasan" to collect an impressive variety of arts and crafts. The Machiko Hasegawa Museum was opened in 1985 so that the general public could enjoy this collection of treasures, too.
The special exhibition of pieces that Hasegawa loved includes works from renowned Japanese painters including Gyoshu Hayami, Taikan Yokoyama, Yuki Ogura, and Yasushi Sugiyama, and other forms of art like ceramics. Adult admission to the event is priced at 900 yen.
