Wired Café 360 is an oasis for those shopping or sightseeing in the Harajuku area. Located on top of the tech-savvy KDDI Designing Studio, Wired Café 360 is a trendy internet café near where Meiji Dori and Takeshita Dori intersect with a panoramic view of the streets of Harajuku below.

Wired Café 360 isn’t your typical dark internet café manga lining the walls. The name 360 is true to the structure of the café. When you enter, you’re in a totally circular room, 360 degrees around. Where there aren’t windows with sunshine pouring through, there are exposed brick walls that display designs from local artists and design magazines. The café is very open air and has an outdoor patio where you can sit outside as you watch the busy streets below or see Shinjuku’s night lights.

Wired Café 360 is extremely lively with the chattering of friends and loud music, so bring your own headphones if you’re going there for the sole purpose of working. Many of the patrons were women with their shopping bags, relaxing with their friends after a busy day of shopping. I saw few people working at their table, but free wi-fi is available for those brave enough to work through the noise. Although loud, I really enjoyed the music as I worked. I noticed the music came from the staffs’ own personal music collections. After every album, a new staff member would switch out their iPod and choose their favorite album to play. Today’s choice was a unique blend of 90’s R&B and soft jazz. In the evening, they dimmed the lights and projected a music documentary shot by a local band.

The café has a full menu with light food, drinks, and cocktails. Their lunch set comes with a drink and dessert, and runs about 1200 yen. They also offer their own unique drinks. I ordered the Orange Berry Splash served in a mason jar, which is ginger ale with fresh berries and orange slices. I sat at the café for hours, and there was never a dull moment. Wired Café 360 is a great place to feel the energetic and artistic atmosphere so famous in Harajuku.

The café is owned by Café Company, which has other Wired establishments in Shibuya, Shinjuku, Omiya-Miyahara, and Abeno-bashi.
