Homma Museum

Shonai art and a beautiful Japanese garden.

Homma Museum’s main house was built in 1813 as a vacation villa by Koto, the head of the Homma family at the time. The surrounding gardens were designed as a place to relax and enjoy nature.

Now, a museum of local Shonai art stands next to the gardens, and the main house has been converted into a museum, gift shop and tea room, from which one can sit and look out over the gardens.
