Kiwa La Beach in Ube City is known as Japan's "Salt Flats of Uyuni." It is a popular photo spot for its mirror-like water surface. On non-windy days, the tidal pools create water puddles and reflect the sky on their still surface. These puddles create a stunning view.
To take advantage of this photo opportunity, it is recommended to visit from two hours before to two hours after low tide. The tide level forecast for Ube City is available online. On a non-windy day, walk slowly and gently through the pools for the picture perfect moment.
The beach is also home to one of the largest sandbars in Japan, being two kilometers wide and 700 meters long. It can be crossed on foot. During summertime, it is visited by many people from inside and outside the prefecture as a camping spot. With its shallow and calm waters, it's also a great place for swimming.
From late April to early May, Kiwa La Beach is a popular spot for clam digging. For 250 yen, you can get your own bag and try it out!
Within walking distance of Kiwa La Beach is PANARI, a comfortable accommodation that will allow you and your family to enjoy the deep blue ocean, starry sky, and morning sun. PANARI is your own personal base that can accommodate up to 10 people.
During your stay, PANARI allows outdoor activities on the property such as a beach BBQ. They also offer shellfish digging tours.
Enjoy fun in the sun, stunning views, and a comfortable stay at Kiwa La Beach and PANARI.
