Tide / Shimonoseki

A special exhibition at the Shimonoseki City Art Museum

Venue: Shimonseki City Art Museum When: Nov 28th - Jan 24th 2021

A special exhibition taking place at the Shimonoseki City Art Museum is titled "Tide / Shimonoseki", and it explores works from artists through different genres and generations who have been influenced by this part of Japan.

The works on display include pieces from Maki Nakahara (Japanese-style painter), Yoshihide Ishiyama (Western-style painter), and Takenori Ito (sculptor), all of whom currently reside in Shimonoseki itself. The intent of the exhibition is to allow visitors to feel the "tide" of art in Shimonoseki.

Adult admission is priced at 600 yen.

The Shimonoseki City Art Museum can be accessed via bus from the JR Shimonoseki, Shin-Shimonoseki, or Chofu Stations. The travel time from each station to the museum is between 15 to 25 minutes.
