In the north of Kyoto, not far from Kinkakuji and Daitoku Temple, is Funaokayama Park. The park is located on a hill and at the top is a treasure: Kenkun Shrine. From there you can enjoy a wonderful view over the city, as you can see the many houses of Kyoto through the trees. A few minutes walk from the shrine is an observation deck where the view is even more spectacular. The shrine's vivid orange structures are especially brilliant with autumn scenery.
