When you get off at the Sakurajima Ferry Terminal, Tsukiyomi Jinja is only a short walk away. You'll see the big torii (gate) from the street. The top of the shrine will reward you with a small observation deck and an amazing view of the volcano. Tsukiyomi Jinja was built about 1300 years ago, but it was moved from its original position after it got buried by lava during the Taisho eruption in 1914.
