Ethiopian Airlines launched a Tokyo-Addis Ababa route on April 21st, providing the only direct flights between Japan and Africa.
There are three flights a week on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The route is a code-share with ANA, so passengers are able to connect via Tokyo Narita Airport to and from destinations across Japan with a single ticket and check-in.
For outbound passengers there are onward connections from Addis Ababa to numerous destinations across Africa and Europe, and even to Sao Paolo.
