Lisa Larson - A Journey Through Time

A special event at the Niitsu Art Museum

Venue: Niitsu Art Museum When: Apr 10th - Jun 13th 2021

A special exhibition at Niigata's Niitsu Art Museum looks at the works of Swedish artist Lisa Larson, who is known for her warm and simple Scandinavian-inspired ceramic pieces. Around 200 pieces will be displayed from various points throughout Larson's career, along with a collection of items from artists who inspired her such as fellow Swedish designer Stig Lindberg.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Niitsu Art Museum is located around 25 minutes on foot from the JR Furutsu Station, or approximately 5 minutes by taxi from the JR Yashiroda Station, both served by the Shin'etsu Main Line. Buses are also available from the east exit of the JR Niitsu Station to the museum - take the Niigata Kotsu Bus bound for Shirone / Katahigashi, and alight at the Niigata Museum Entrance stop (about 15 minutes travel time). The museum is about 5 minutes away on foot.

For those who opt to drive to the museum, it's around 20 minutes from the Niitsu IC on the Ban-etsu Expressway. Free parking is available at the venue for up to 250 vehicles.

I haven't heard of Japandi design yet, but I'll take a look as got curious about it. Both styles have common traits, don't they?
