There is a real sense of community in Yuzawa Town and the people are very friendly and polite. Locals and visitors from Tokyo mix together, and stallholders come from near and far to attend the festival.
We purchased a pair of beautiful hand-made pillows from a lovely lady who lives nearly two hours away in Sanjo!
We also ate edamame, yakitori and fresh, locally grown watermelon.
On our way out we met the town Mayor and shook his hand!
