When I first arrived in Fukuya City, Saitama Prefecture, I was not sure where to explore first but wanted to visit a local shrine. After strolling around the city I found this quiet shrine. From Fukuya Station, you walk briefly down Route 69 to find the gate of Fujuku-in on your right side. It was completely deserted and peacefully quiet, with charming views of the garden and statues from almost every angle.

The gate that led me to sneak inside Fukuju-in

You can see the main building and prayer room in the middle of the garden

Fukuju-in also has several statues. This one is a beautiful Goddess.

Besides the main building, you can see the caretaker's house and surrounding garden

Nice architecture, very authentic

Several statues of God

A man or monk is sitting and thinking above the maple trees

Old bell

The God of Mercy stands besides the street
