Of Japan's myriad traditional art forms, bonsai might be one of the most well known. These ornamental trees are engineered in such a way that they remain miniature, and they're revered for their beauty. A special afternoon tea event taking place at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo takes inspiration from bonsai, with the hotel's pastry chef specifically visiting the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum in Saitama to formulate the menu.
The lineup includes five savory dishes, two types of sandwiches, six sweet dishes, scones, plus coffee and tea, and is priced at ¥ 9400 per head. Reservations can be made via the Ritz-Carlton website.
