Double Fantasy: John & Yoko 2020-2021

Delve into the world of these two creatives

Venue: Sony Music Roppongi Museum When: Oct 9th - Jan 11th 2021

“Double Fantasy – John & Yoko” is the world's first exhibition filled with the words, belongings, and works of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. At the event, more than 100 pieces from Yoko Ono's personal collection will delve into the lives of these two creatives, who expressed themselves through art, music, and video.

Some of the exhibition highlights include clothing and glasses worn by the couple, Lennon's hand-painted notebooks, illustrations and lyrics, Ono's art books, and even a replica of the Indica Gallery where the two met for the first time. There will also be displays about the couple's famous "Bed-ins for Peace" in Amsterdam and Montreal as nonviolent protests against war.

Getting there

The Sony Music Roppongi Museum is located 7 minutes on foot from Roppongi Station (Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and the Toei Oedo Line), or 6 minutes on foot from Azabu Juban Station (Tokyo Metro Namboku Line and the Toei Oedo Line).

Haha! So true. And so many random ones as well. I only found out recently that Kawagoe has a sweet potato museum :-D Its only open a few months, but didn't hear a whisper of it. Found it accidentally while researching something!

I hadn't even been born before John Lennon was killed, but I love the music of The Beatles, so I am very interested in this exhibition!
