Global hotel chain teams up with seminal artist for a taste of Japan

For fans of art and afternoon tea, Grand Hyatt Tokyo has just the thing for you. In collaboration with legendary Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami, the Roppongi hotel is introducing a new afternoon tea takeout box available from December 10, 2020.

With only 20 boxes being sold per day, it's certain that this will be a huge success. The box will feature two layers of vibrant sweet and savory items inspired by the artist’s famous “Flower” works as well as an original menu card and purple “Flower” furoshiki wrapping cloth that was specially created for this collaboration.

The boxes must be reserved online at least two days in advance. Additionally, Fiorentina Pastry Boutique will offer adorable sugar cookies covered in white chocolate with printed images of the happy “Flower” artwork as well as freshly baked sweet-bean paste bread with a special imprint of the flower. Immerse yourself in the world of Takashi Murakami and indulge in Instagrammable desserts made by the hotel's award-winning pastry chefs from the comfort of your home.

Menu (serves two):

Sweet: Flower mousse: Fromage blanc and strawberry.

Colorful mousse: Vanilla cream and raspberry, apricot jelly and apricot, strawberry jelly and pistachio, mango and coconut.

Profiterole: Strawberry shortcake.

Marshmallows: Strawberry, exotic fruit, grape, muscat grape.

Glass desserts: Rose jelly, butterfly pea flower tea jelly, green apple jelly, orange liqueur jelly.

Plain and strawberry scone served with jam

Savory: Chicken breast and black truffle mousse, tortilla wrap. Brioche French toast, foie gras, lingonberry jam. Homemade smoked salmon, sour cream, caviar blinis. Cheese sable, pumpkin purée, nutmeg.

Original furoshiki wrapping cloth 75 cm x 73cm (100 percent polyester) and original menu card.

Online reservations will be taken from November 26 and must be made at least two days in advance, before 3pm.

From December 22 to 25, 2020, this item will be limited to ten boxes per day.

Price: ¥18,000 (excludes tax)

Pick-up Time: 1pm – 3pm. This item should be consumed within two hours of pick-up time

Pick-up Location: Special counter in front of the Fiorentina restaurant (1F)
