Roppongi Hills

Stunning photographic opportunities looking over Tokyo

By Ben Beechey    - 1 min read

Roppongi Hills is one of Japan's largest property developments, located in Roppongi, Minato-ku. Designed and constructed by Minoru Mori, the complex consists of offices, swish apartments, high street and designer shops, restaurants, movie theaters, a museum, an art gallery, a hotel, a TV studio, an outdoor amphitheater, and a few parks.

The main attraction is the 54-story Mori Tower. From the observation deck you can see stunning views of Tokyo and even Mt. Fuji can be seen very clearly on a good day. The photographic opportunities from the observation deck are fantastic and an absolute must for anybody looking to capture the vastness of the city on camera.

I moved to Japan in late 2007 and lived in the beautiful mountainous setting of Nagano-ken for two very fun years. Although the scenery in Nagano was stunning and the snowboarding conditions second to none, I decided to try life in the fast lane and moved to Tokyo in 2009. I have been in Tokyo since, and am currently based in Nakano-ku. Living in Tokyo fascinates me on a daily basis, there are so many interesting people to meet, places to discover and adventures to be had. My passion is photography, both analogue and digital and I also enjoy snowboarding, cycling and traveling in my spare time.
