Fuji TV

At the top of Fuji Television
The head office building of Fuji TV was built in 1996, long before Odaiba became the popular hot spot it is today. The world-famous designer, Kenzo Tange (1913-2005), was responsible for creating this unique building. At the outset, the combination of a spherical body and solid square building was quite new. He envisioned that it would become the symbol of the newly developed Odaiba. His prediction has come true!
The spherical body is 32 meters in diameter and covered with 3200 durable titanium panels. The observatory deck within this spherical body commands a great view of metropolitan Tokyo across the bay. You can see all of Tokyo's famous landmarks in line: Mt. Fuji (hidden by clouds on the day I was there), Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Skytree. How many others can you spot?
