A special event taking place at the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts will explore the history of interior painting from the 18th century to the 20th century. Approximately 140 artworks focused on the interiors of homes will be on display from the likes of Henri Matisse, Maurice Denis, Pablo Picasso, and Max Ernst to name just a handful.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 800 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts is located around 15 minutes on foot from the East Exit of Machida Station, served by the Odakyu Odawara Line and the JR Yokohama Line.

For those who opt to drive to the museum, it's a short distance away from the Tomei Expressway's Machida Interchange. On-site parking is available - it's free during the week, but charges do apply on weekends and public holidays for stays longer than 90 minutes.
