Tea Utensils Exhibition 2020-2021

A special event at the Gotoh Museum Collection

Venue
The Gotoh Museum, Tokyo
When
Dec 15th 2020 - Feb 14th 2021

If you're a tea lover, a special event taking place at Tokyo's Gotoh Museum until February 14th 2021 will showcase a range of tea utensils from the museum's collection. Around 70 pieces in total will be displayed, along with full-size replicas of the museum's three tea house alcoves.

During the event there will also be special lectures held on various tea-related topics, including an introduction session to Korean tea bowls, and information on the processes and traditions behind tea ceremonies.

Admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen for adults, and 700 yen for university and high school students. Those who are junior high school aged and below are admitted for free.

Getting there

The Gotoh Museum is located in Setagaya, approximately 5 minutes on foot from Kaminoge Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line.

For those who plan to drive, there is only a limited amount of parking on site. As a result, museum staff encourage the use of public transport wherever possible.

Tea utensils are fascinating. For Tokyo folks who aren’t traveling, this is treat.
