Otera Cafe is a wonderful little cafe located on the beautiful Suo Oshima in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The menu is mostly drinks and sweets, but they do offer a couple of lunch items. After perusing the menu, I decided to order matcha and the monaka ice cream with my choice of flavors being matcha, roasted tea, or brown sugar and milk. It was a difficult decision, but I went with the roasted tea ice cream. The wafers were really crunchy, the beans had the perfect amount of sweetness, and the ice cream had a slight hint of roasted tea flavor. My friend ordered the amazake latte and after taking a sip, we both agreed we would be coming back just for this latte.

I have to agree with Mandy - what a beautiful cafe! Looks like a serene place to really relax at on a Saturday morning.
Yes! I keep looking at my calendar for an open Saturday so I can go back.

What a gorgeous-looking cafe! And the roasted tea ice cream sounds delicious.
It really is a gorgeous cafe!! The roasted tea ice cream was amazing. I need to go back and try the brown sugar and milk ice cream!
