Odaiba Colors & Patterns

Station icons of the Yurikamome Line (Odaiba)

The Yurikamome Line is an automated guideway transit service connecting central Tokyo (Shimbashi) and the Tokyo Bay waterfront (Odaiba, Ariake, and Toyosu). About 30,000 people use this train line daily, accessing Odaiba's cool sightseeing spots. For the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, it will be the main transport to the stadium from central Tokyo.

By the way, we can see these unique station icons at each stop along the line. All the colors and the patterns are taken from Japanese traditional design. For example, Hinode (meaning Sunrise) Station has “Scattered Sunshine” and features sunrays scattered through clouds. Its image color is crimson. Another example is Fune-no-kagakukan (Museum of Maritime Science) Station. It features sails from sailboats. And its image color is maroon.

You might enjoy spotting these patterns that decorate the stations during your tour of the Tokyo Bay Area.
