If you're walking between Atsuta-jingu shrine and Shirotori Garden in southern Nagoya, the residential area between these two major sights is also home to a number of small but interesting Buddhist temples. One of them is Ryoshuu-ji, which has an unassuming charm and peaceful atmosphere, and has clearly been there for some time, judging by the lichens covering the ground and parts of the lanterns and small purifying water-trough.
