Nanrakuen Sotobori Sakura Festival

Enjoy the beauty of spring at this Ehime gem

Each year from around late March through to late April, Ehime's Nanrakuen Garden is home to a cherry blossom festival that celebrates the beauty of the spring season. There are around 80 cherry trees on the grounds here, and they are illuminated after dark so that visitors can enjoy their splendor well into the evening.

Like all flower events, the dates can fluctuate slightly from year to year, but an official confirmation should be posted on the official Nanrakuen Garden website closer to when the trees bloom. For those who can't make it to the park during cherry blossom season, there is a plum festival earlier in spring, along with other events dedicated to azaleas and irises.

Admission to the park is priced at 310 yen for adults, and 150 yen for school-aged students and those who are 65 years of age and above.

Getting there

The Nanrakuen Garden is located around 40 minutes by bus from JR Uwajima Station, which is served by the Yosan Line and the Yodo Line.
