Enoshima Lanterns

Soak in the romantic mood of Japanese illumination

During the month of August, the long approach to Enoshima Shrine is lit up with Japanese lanterns. Various silhouettes on the lanterns illustrate the myths of the mysterious and beautiful Enoshima Island (read more). If you have a chance to go there wearing summer yukata, drop by “Samuel Cocking Garden” and get an original Japanese hand towel, tenugui. The lantern illumination is from 6 PM to 8:30 PM.

*Note: Canceled in case of rain
