Sakura Cruise on Okawa River, Osaka

A different point of view on the cherry blossom

Enjoy the sakura or cherry blossoms from an unique point of view on the Okawa river in Osaka. The sakura cruise is from March 26 to April 10, from 10 am to 7 pm, with the cruise taking 25 minutes, and boats leave every 10 to 30 minutes. The cruise start at Hachikenyahama Harbor, just north of Temmabashi Station. The cost of the cruise is ¥ 1200 for adult and ¥600 for kids, the cruise if free for one kid by adult. There is also a rebate of ¥200 for the holders of Osaka PiTaPa card.

The cruise will bring you to the Mint Museum, Temmabashi and the Osaka Castle. You can also enjoy a view from the Sky Garden of the OMM Building located not far from Temmabashi station, which is free to enter, from 10 am to 8 pm (close at 4pm before March 24, and might be close in case of bad weather).

Yes, unfortunately I left yesterday and this weekend the sakura where just starting to bloom. I guess that next weekend it will be great.
