The Atami Plum Garden in Shizuoka is home to some of Japan's earliest blooming plum tree varieties. The annual plum festival held here showcases close to 500 plum trees in 59 different varieties, and along with the early blooming trees there are mid-blooming and late-blooming types. This ensures that whenever you visit during the festival dates, there will be something beautiful to enjoy!
For the 2021 event, extra mitigation measures will be in place to prevent against the spread of coronavirus. These include temperature checks upon entering the park and mask wearing requirements.
Admission to the event is priced at 300 yen for adults. Junior high school students and younger-aged children are admitted for free.
