The Japanese twist on this French dessert has been steadily building a name of its own, and should be on your to-eat list! Fear not if you don’t have a sweet tooth as there are savory crepes as well, with fillings like ham and lettuce. All the stores offer a pretty wide variety of crêpes. Popular variations of crêpes like Chocolate Banana (ChocoBanana for short) and strawberry-related ones are sold by most crêpe stores as well. Prices range from about 350 yen to 650 yen.

Takeshita Street Crêpes
"Lovely style" desserts for everybody!

Community writer

Crêpes - lovely fluffy desserts come to mind!

Takeshita Street caters to the teenage crowd who are always looking for new trendy things to try out.

Angels Heart - one of the 2 famous crêpe shops in Takeshita Street.

Going on weekdays would be better as the lines are definitely smaller than on weekends.

Queues form on and off, so grab yours if you spot little or no queues! Long lines can last up to 10-15 minutes.

Green tea cheesecake and fresh cream crêpe from Angels Heart. The texture of the crêpe is very soft and lovely, and went well with the fillings. It was a little too sweet for me at the end, as there was a mound of white chocolate stuck there.

Marion Crêpes - the other famous crêpe shop directly opposite Angels Heart. From the reviews I've seen online, this store seems more famous.

Most crêpe shops have glass cases full of tempting images of all the various kinds of savoury and sweet crêpe fillings. This display is from Marion Crêpes.

Marion Crêpes has limited seasonal items too, like this Sakura Doumyoji and Kuromitsu Matcha mousse in celebration of spring.

The best way to promote food it to show it. There are savoury crêpes as well, for those who are not that into sweet stuff. Displayed here are the seasonal crêpes.

I got the Kuromitsu Matcha mousse crêpe from Marion Crêpes. The crêpe itself has a more chewy texture as compared to the Angels Heart’s crêpe. Lovely matcha ice-cream and matcha pudding!

Rubbish bins meant for the crêpe wrappers alone. It overflows on weekends.

I've only ever seen pigeons scavenging. The foreigners found it fun to feed the sparrows and the locals found them to be pests of a kind.

These crepes are cheap than at the crepery, but the cream is not delicious! :(
