I am a big fan of gazing down on big cities from above, capturing them in the day and seeing their identity slowly changing while the sun sets, then exploding into power at night. It was a special moment for me to watch the sun set from the top of this magnificent building. The red sky was like a magician's carpet, then with one quick swipe all of a sudden the city became a kaleidoscope of color.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building provides a must-view for those traveling through Tokyo, and it is definitely worth getting up there to see the city throughout these changes. Along with myself, there were many people from all over the world gazing in awe at what was in front of them. It is easy to find, located above Tocho-mae Station on the Oedo Subway Line.

I graduated from University of Hertfordshire in the UK in 2014, with a 2:1 in Mass Communications. I have since worked in China for a Media and PR Company as a writer and photographer and also as a foreign editor for a English website for the expatriate community in Guangzhou. I am a big fan of the East in many ways, and have always dreamed of coming to Japan. I look forward to exploring this beautiful and unique country over the years to come!
