Tokyo's Musashimurayama City

Tokyo's only city without a train station

Overview

Famous for being the only municipality in Tokyo without a train station, Musashimurayama City is home to the incredible Noyamakita-Rokudoyama Park. Worth visiting for this park alone, the city also finds time to engage modern shoppers with the famous AEON Mall shopping centre. Parents will love Fantasy Kids Resort, a children's indoor play centre, while the truly curious will be fascinated by the Yokota Tunnel.

Noyamakita-Rokudoyama Park

The southern tip of the huge Sayama Hills natural park, Noyamakita-Rokudoyama Park is day out for the whole family. Filled with groves of forested woodlands, hills, waterways, and rice fields, the park also features traditional homes, hiking trails and numerous playgrounds, including the obstacle courses of the Adventure Forest.

Fantasy Kids Resort

A great place to take the young kids for fun and play, the Fantasy Kids Resort lies at the very southern end of the city. An indoor park, the centre features play areas, sandpits, go-carts, and creative spaces like dress-up zones, and interactive puzzle and drawing areas. The food court is also a bonus for hungry mouths.

AEON Mall

A bustling multi-level shopping mall in the middle of the city, AEON Mall is home to scores of stores. Completely modern, the mall is home to all of the latest stores like UNI-QLO, Zara, Gap and H&M and restaurant area with both Japanese and Western restaurants, and even a cinema.

Yokota Tunnel

Well off any tourist route is Yokota Tunnel. Once a route for transporting construction materials from one side of the mountain to the other, the tunnel is now a thoroughfare for pedestrians and cyclists. A sense of history can still be had here though even as the tunnel opens out onto the very local Yokota Children's Playground.

Used to live close by - the AEON here is big! There's also a good Bornelund indoor kids play center at the aeon too.
