Experiencing the summer with a bit of snow
Majestic, that's the only word I can use to describe what I saw at Mt. Tateyama. The journey to this breathtaking place began at the Tateyama Station, were I went up a steep area on a cable cart for 15mins. Then onto a one hour bus ride to Murodo (the highest point you can take transport to).
Mt. Tateyama is one of the three holy mountains in Japan, along with Mt. Fuji and Mt. Hakusan. I was blown away by the unique landscape views at different areas of the mountain. It was the first week of August (the peak of the summer season) but there was still lots of snow paths leading up to the peak. The higher I got, the more beautiful the landscape became. Hotels and camping grounds make Mt. Tateyama a nice place for a family trip in all seasons. You can enjoy each distinct season right around the year.
