The wonderful view of cherry trees along Asuwa River in Fukui is famous among local people. It is beautiful day and night in spring. Especially at night, the whole scenery is transformed by the atmospheric illumination that is held during cherry blossom season.
What I love most about this illumination is the fact that I can almost monopolize the scenery. Asuwa River is too familiar to local people, so even when it is beautifully illuminated they don't make a big fuss about it. However, as a newish resident of Fukui, I make a big fuss! It's too beautiful to take it for granted! I could spend all my nights on the riverbank during the light-up. For daytime photos, please see my other photo story.
