Excellent relaxation salon

A strong and supple body was often symbolized by a willow tree in ancient Japan. Modern stress and the demands of a fast-paced lifestyle has made it more difficult to achieve this ideal.

The producer of Jyoichi Salons, Kenji (grandson of Jyoichi), wishes to restore the original state of strength and suppleness of a healthy mind and body through various body care treatment courses, as well as cosmetic products, teas, oils, and supplements that contain natural health and youth boosting ingredients.

Jyoichi has two courses to choose from, both of which have 60, 90, and 120 minute options. The Shinayaka Bodycare Course works on muscle and joint flexibility through stretching and massage techniques that ease tension and physical discomfort. Attention is also given to the pelvic region (which targets lower back pain, a common complaint) and the face.

The Taoyaka Oil Treatment Course is a luxurious pampering session that uses Japanese essential oils. This massage treatment soothes and relaxes the muscles and promotes blood circulation. Unfortunately, this course is only available to women.

Special and targetted treatment courses (e.g. facial only, hot stone, maternity, postnatal care) are also available.

Jyoichi Salon traces its history back Mr. Jyoichi, born in 1923 to a low-income family. He was weak and delicate, but liked to read to learn a variety of things, which he applied to different jobs. He hired staff with disabilities and provided a dormitory for some of his staff who cannot afford housing. His clinic attracted customers due to his good sense of humor and business savvy. Jyoichi's grandson, Kenji, was inspired by his lifestyle and philosophy and created Excellent Relaxation Salon Jyoichi with his grandfather in mind.

Getting there

Jyoichi is located on the 5th floor of the Tokyu Plaza Shibya. It is about a two minute walk from the West Exit of the JR Shibuya Station.

After the year that 2020 has been, relaxation sounds lovely! I also liked that it seems like (from the first picture) that they're taking some COVID related precautions.
